I have learned a lot this semester. But what I need to improve the most on would be writing a good lead. I have always struggled with this even as a journalist myself. Writing a good lead that fits the narrative can be difficult given the story and I know with time and practice I will be able to master the form. Hopefully, by the end of the class I will be able to do just that.
I really enjoy the readings and discussions we have in class. It gives me a better perspective on what the chapter was about and what the overall message was. It helps me grow as a writer to know what all the terms, AP styles, formats, leads, etc., mean in retrospect.
