Stokes Herzog is a full service marketing agency located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I conducted a virtual interview over Zoom with Taylor Pelissero, their account director, for insight on what it is like to work at a full service marketing company in Eau Claire.

Pelissero has always been interested in media. “There’s a picture of me, I must have been about four or five, I’m sitting in a laundry basket and I’m ‘reading’ a TV guide. I have always been into media,” she said. She is now living out her childhood dream of working at a company that specializes in the media of advertising, videography, public relations, and marketing.
Pelissero said her education and experience has led her to her success at Stokes Herzog today. She first attended a community college for two years and then transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to finish her degree. She majored in integrated strategic communications with a public relations emphasis and a psychology minor. Pelissero was able to intern at two different to organizations to gain real experience to build her resume. She interned at a nonprofit sports organization and a digital public relations firm.
Pelissero began working at Stokes Herzog right after she graduated from college in 2015. She started out in a part-time entry level position. Her job duties included work on social media posts, making sure all the YouTube videos had the appropriate tags attached to them, updating websites, and any small task that needed to be done. As Stokes Herzog began to grow as a company, Pelissero became a full-time employee. She went from an entry level employee, to a project manager, and now is the account director.
Every day at work is different for Pelissero and she has an agenda of what she needs to do each week to stay on track. Typically, Pelissero spends her afternoons working with the other project managers in their collaborative working environment. They work on specific client’s accounts for a set amount of time. This process enables them to divide and conquer the tasks such as client’s social media posts, review client’s latest videos, or look into their next advertisement.
Stokes Herzog is a relatively new company and continues to strive for improvement and growth. “We can really grow this to whatever we want it to be… and since I’ve been with them for so long, I can help shape the company,” Pelissero said. She said that she will have the ability to advance within the company as they hire more employees and take on more cliental. Pelissero enjoys her career and the challenges it brings her every day.
